Daphne | Portrait Session

This portrait session was really special. ​I used to spend every summer growing up with my cousin Daphne. We were called the ‘nees’ (CourtNEY and DaphNE) She and I would have photo shoots in thrift store changing rooms and in her yard wearing fedoras. (the coolest) I fell in love with photography as a kid/teen through photographing her. I’ve been really loving female portrait sessions lately cause there’s just something so amazing about making girls feel beautiful in their own skin. We see images of other women all the time and there’s something so empowering about seeing yourself in a photograph and being like “woah, that’s me!” Since I'm based in Santa Cruz now, being able to visit Reno and photograph such a close friend is such a treat.
Forever grateful for my other ‘nee’.
