Five Things you can do in quarantine to help your business grow
1. Take a step back
We live in a time where working crazy hours is glorified and most of us have never had an opportunity to take a bit of a break. Our brains are bombarded with information all day every day, but this is a time to pay attention to how much information you can handle.
Pay attention to how you feel after you scroll through social media or read too many news articles. Pay attention to how the information affects your mind.
Read that book you've been wanting to read. Delete social media from your phone for a bit. Take naps. Meditate. Watch something creative. Above anything else, just chill. The best ideas come when our mind is calm.

2. Redefine your why
Stepping away from all of the noise can clear up a lot of room in your mind for inspiration. Taking a break from constantly filling your head with other people's lives can help you focus on your own work. Take the time to reflect on why you do what you do. The video below explains how creating a life map can help you define your why.

3. Plan Out Social Media Posts
You probably know about apps/websites like Planoly or UnUm where you can plan out your social media feed for instagram. This time is the perfect opportunity to write out some captions and take the time to focus on what you want to share online. Some of the best advice I've ever gotten is to write out captions before you attach them to any posts. Journaling can be such a great way to take the time to really reflect on what topics you're truly passionate about.
Reflecting on your why is and amazing way to take a step back and recognize what you want to put out into the world.

4. Do some creative projects
Planning out projects on your own can be such a creative outlet.
Take a few self portraits.
Make a video and post it to Youtube.
Learn a TicTok dance.
Run.
Paint.
Yoga.
Build a miniature New York City skyline out of Legos.
Write a book.
Redecorate your house.
There are so many fun and creative things we all love to do and all of a sudden we have time to do them. And if you procrastinate everything like Ben tends to do, well that's cool too.

5. Write
Not only is writing one of the best ways to promote your business online, it's fantastic for mental health. Sit down and write whatever you feel like. It could be a blog post, a journal entry, a how-to video or a well though out article. Posting what you write on your website is great for SEO and for helping your audience get to know your business, but it's also therapeutic in complicated times. Granted, you're not going to post your existential musings online, (unless that's your thing) but writing just to get your thoughts onto paper can help bring clarity to cluttered heads.
